ITS Publications & Documentation Resources
ITS maintains a core set of help documentation and assorted publications to make your computing at UNM easier. These include short single-task documents to midsize Introductions and UNM-centered manuals.
Paper copies of core documents are available at the ITS and Dane Smith computer pods and the Lobo Lab at the Student Union.
In addition to the online publications and documentation links below, online help is available via FastInfo. Search the FastInfo knowledge base for answers to frequently asked questions, or if you can't find the answer, Ask a Question at FastInfo. FastInfo also has Training Viewlets to help you learn common tasks.
Pod Guide Print only. Availble every Fall, Spring and Summer semester, lists available equipment at every computer pod and classroom with a campus map showing pod and classroom locations.

UNM Acceptable Computer Use Policy
Introduction to UNIX (online only, revised November 2005). This manual will help provide you with a good overview of the UNIX computer system at the University of New Mexico, and how to use it. The manual covers basic UNIX commands, using files and directories, managing and manipulating files, using text editors, and printing.
ITS In-house documentation Some of these documents are available for reading only by people in the UNM domain. In many cases, a text only version is not yet available and using a Web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer is recommended to view tables in the documents.
