ITS GroupWise
Novell GroupWise is the supported collaboration application system that provides main and branch campus staff with email, calendaring, task, and contact management functions, and is the official administrative calendar application for UNM.

Getting started with ITS GroupWise
- Apply for an ITS GroupWise user account on the ITS GroupWise account request form.
- After account creation conformation email is received, change your NetID password to activate your GroupWise account.
- Install GroupWise client for Windows with the Web installer (above) or get the downloads for Macintosh OS X, Linux and Windows at the ITS Download page. See FastInfo for answers about common installation problems.

- GroupWise is a full-feature email system as well as collaboration application
that is configured to seamlessly use your existing @unm.edu email
address. ITS recommends using GroupWise as your email client and "Opt-In" to fully utilize GroupWise's collaborative features, or GroupWise can be set to
forward email to your main UNM account. If no changes are made, you will
receive email in both UNM mail and ITS GroupWise accounts.
Instant Messenger
Every ITS GroupWise account has access to the GroupWise Instant Messenger service. This requires a separate client software download. See the Instant Messenger support page for more information.
Accounts
Request an individual or department GroupWise account via the Service Catalog.
The NetID for the account must exist before it can be created in GroupWise.
Your GroupWise account has 1GB of space for the Inbox, Saved mail, Calendar, and Contact Information. You will receive alerts in GroupWise when you approach the limit. For stability and integrity, you are encouraged to use GroupWise Archives (save to your hard drive) to preserve information. While 1 GB is sufficient for most accounts, the limit can be increased when a need for more space is demonstrated.
Scheduled Resources
Resource accounts to schedule rooms, computers, or vehicles are a special
type in GroupWise.

Web Access
The ITS GroupWIse Web client is compatible with most current browsers and offers many of the features of the desktop clients. In addition to convenient access from anywhere on the Web, GroupWise offers an alternative for those who do not need all the features or installation footprint of a desktop client.
